Brass bands.
There is something about a good brass band that makes people smile.
We drove out for lunch into Uppermill today, a quaint little Saddleworth village that is full of little shops and tea rooms. We sat out enjoying the sun, next door a brass band assembled and played some great tunes from 'American Trilogy' to some Blues brothers classics...they wre brilliant. This band also featured in the film' Brassed off'....great entertainment.

I have blurred the pic and changed the colours...I also found a great ap on OH's tablet that lets me draw and transfer the drawings onto forums....unfortunately I cant do it on here cos for some reason I cant log in from his tablet.
Anyway....enough of my artistic leanings..
Do you like brass bands Mags? for some reason I always want to giggle when I hear one, I think it dates back to my schooldays (I have a good memory ) where we had to sit and listen to the school brass band and it was excrutiatingly bad.....these were great today though.

Well yeah... but it has a good story to it and some great actors. Its a bit like the Full monty without the strippers and with trumpets and things.

Hate all chick flicks - Bridget Jones' diary, the full monty etc would be a torture for me.
I read Bridget Jones' Diary whilst I was working in the Maldives (we had to take what we could get ie what the holiday people left behind) and I remember reading parts of it aloud and saying "Jesus this is such a badly written book....who wrote it? A 12 year old?"
Then the film came out and that horrific actress with the awful, awful, awful, English accent......good God. I'd rather drink my own bath water.

Haha....I love all those films Eddie, the books may not be literary works of art (though compared to '50 shades' they could be.....but they are light entertainment.
Do you like horror films or psychological thrillers?
I love em all.
One film I have seen which I bet you would love...'Harry Brown' starring Micheal Caine, it's gritty and realistic....but dramatic with it.

Re: Brass bands.
I like box sets and series' rather than films which can be too quick for me. I like a long drawn out story.
I love anything psychological and I like horrors too - proper ones though.

Dexter was brilliant! He was verrrry sexy too.
He was in Six Feet Under - another brilliant boxset series.
I'm watching Oz at the moment. It's fantastic.
