How can they be so different?

I grew up here as well but the immigration thing divides us

It all depends upon how you look at things.

There is a tarot card called the "Hanged Man". It means many things depending upon where it sits in a reading but the underlying message is the same: turn your situation on its head and look at it from the opposite perspective.

I read a book about an alcoholic once. She was in denial like many heavier drinkers and she kept saying "I drink because I feel so bad!"
One day, a friend said to her, "Turn that sentence around"

"I drink becasue I feel bad"
became
"I feel bad because I drink"

She turned her life around after turning that sentence around.

I never forgot it.

Well you should forget it because being a alcoholic doesn't mean we are nasty it just means we are hooked on something we no longer can control..
