NO ...unless that contaminated ZIKA VIRUS HUMAN has sex with you, Nicko ...would you - you family - even the 'Village Idiot' be in any danger of contamination from that carrier!!!
Is the Zika virus contagious?
No, the Zika virus is not contagious from person to person. Because it's not airborne or transmitted via physical contact, there's no risk of becoming infected with the virus from simply standing near an infected person. There has been one confirmed case of Zika spread through sexual transmission."

PS, if an infected person is bitten by a Mossie even though that Mossie is not at the time infected it can become infected itself by drinking the blood of an infected person. Is that not clear enough?

Transmission by local mosquito populations... the mossie itself is not 'infected' by the virus as such... but it a 'carrier' of the virus... in the same way malaria is transmitted by them...

And the first case in Brazil was confirmed in 2015... and suspected of being brought in by people infected with it during the massive influx of people to there for 2014 world cup...

Experts Explain Key to Stopping Zika Virus From Spreading
This means the virus likely traveled to Brazil via an infected traveler who was then bitten by a mosquito, which then spread the virus.
“I think this provides pretty compelling evidence that it came [to Brazil] from French Polynesia. The main basis for that is the genetic similarity between the viral [samples],” said Dr. Peter Armbruster, professor of biology at Georgetown University, who was not involved in that study.

Wrong again...
Because if you look at the picture you just posted... read the writing... it clearly says that the other type of mossie is also a potential carrier!!!
Then if you read the small print at the bottom... it says that either mossie may or may not be present in the areas highlighted... and it also says the 2 mossie types may or may not be in the areas not highlighted too...
So... either mossie could be carriers and either type could be anywhere!!!
Also... I did read somewhere that so far in florida the biologists working on the investigation have not yet found any of the aegypti type there...

Republicans Hold Zika Funding Hostage In Order to Fly the Confederate Flag
By Sarah Jones on Tue, Jul 12th, 2016 at 9:34 am
This is that time that Republicans stopped Americans from getting protection from the Zika virus because they feel they must first have the right to fly the Confederate flag over cemeteries.
You see, after Senate Republicans and Democrats hashed out a compromise on Zika funding that was less than what scientists asked for and thus less than what Democrats wanted but more than Republicans wanted, they sent that to the House. What came back?
Oh, sorry an American died from Zika and so sorry to the nearly 3,700 people in the U.S. (and territories) who have it, but Republicans will only fund the Zika emergency if they can fly the Confederate flag, create more abortions by refusing to fund birth control provided by Planned Parenthood, poison more water by exempting pesticides from the Clean Water Act, cut veterans funding and more.
Reid charged that due to the Republican provisions, the report now:
It restricts funding for birth control provided by Planned Parenthood.
It exempts pesticide spraying from the Clean Water Act.
It cuts veterans’ funding by $500 million below the Senate bill.
It cuts Ebola funding by $107 million.
It rescinds $543 million from Obamacare.
It strikes a prohibition on displaying the Confederate flag that was in the House bill.
You might be worried because seven babies have been born in the US with birth defects caused by Zika. But, sorry pregnant ladies whose labs came back with evidence of Zika virus infection (as of June 30, the CDC stats are 320 women in the US States and DC and 279 in territories) — the “pro-life” Republicans must be allowed to fly the Confederate flag and they feel that is more important than your baby. Senator Reid was pretty incensed that a health emergency is being held up over the Confederate flag, veterans’ funding, Planned Parenthood, and Obamacare. He said that Democrats wouldn’t bother voting for something the President wouldn’t sign, and “The only way to do that is to pass the Senate compromise as a stand-alone bill. And that is precisely what we Democrats are proposing.”
Reid continued, “It’s too bad but the House says we can’t do that unless we have that Confederate flag flying over cemeteries, stop people from going to Planned Parenthood, take money from Ebola, which everyone says we need to stay on top of. We take $500 million away from veterans processing claims.”
http://www.politicususa.com/2016/07/12/republicans-hold-zika-funding-hostage-order-fly-confederate-flag.html
And now - NOW Gov. Scott has finally acquiesced to pull in the CDC {center for Disease Control} to aid his state of Florida as the number of 'Non-Travel' cases has grown to 14 {2 women 12 men tested & infected with Zika virus} none of them have traveled outside of Florida - none of them have sexual partners that are Zika Positive - they've found a few of the 2 types of Zika mosquito carrier breeds in this neighborhood.
Nearly 15 days passed between the date that the first positive tested human was reported {non-traveled/non-sexual contact} and the mosquito's just kept breeding and the virus spreading and Gov. Scott didn't/wouldn't call in the CDC to help FIND THE AREA .
The Florida Department of Health has identified 10 more people who likely contracted Zika virus through a mosquito bite, Governor Rick Scott said Monday — bringing the total number of people with locally transmitted Zika to 14. Pregnant women are advised to avoid travel to the area just north of downtown Miami, health officials said.
Women who are considering getting pregnant and have traveled to the area should delay for eight weeks, Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said during a call Monday.
"Any pregnant women who traveled to this area on or after June 15 should speak to their doctors," Frieden said. "Pregnant women who live or work there should be tested during their first and second trimesters."
Pregnant women are also advised to use condoms for the duration of the pregnancy.
Two of the confirmed infections in Florida are women and 12 are men.

Re: RIO & the ZIKA Virus
So this still has me wondering:Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the CDC said during an interview just now on CNN; these Zika carrying mosquitos don't obtain the virus from biting humans they have the virus and their range of flight is limited to an area of no more then 30 miles.
a.) how did those 'unknown' little buggers make their way to just that discovered pocket of south Florida
b.) they 'think' that there are now 2 identified types of mosquito's carrying the known virus
c.) if the flight range of any mosquito is limited to a 30 mile range WTF ...how'd they arrive to that eastern section of Florida?
And I'm really flummoxed by the rational of Gov. Scott for procrastinating so dam long about this issue --- WTH, why would you wait before calling in the CDC to help you locate/isolate/eradicate that pocket?
Well, that and my total pissed off attitude about my do nothing congressional fuck-wits that find it more important to quibble about the 'Union Jack' flag then and cut funding for this issue then to rush the funding for Zika Virus through and be done with it.
We have a huge unknown now spreading rapidly in our country and we seem ill prepared for the 'What To Do Factors' ...
To Many Questions - To Few Answers; due to lack of funding!

How hard would it be to capture those breeding mosquitos, say in the Rio region - transport them into an area {like the USA} and release those little untraceable virus carriers into that perfect breeding rich environment just for shits & grins?
Shit, forget germ warfare/chemical warfare/nuclear bombs - this is the cheapest/easiest way to invade a country and create chaos and deplete the human breeding stock known to mankind.
We still have ZERO clues if there's any way to inoculate humanity from this virus - how long it lives within our bodies - yes, it causes major birth defects but what actual impact does it have on a child/teenager/adult - men vs women react differently to certain blood viruses too!
So many questions and our government is playing games with the funding!

How many times do I have to keep stating the bleeding obvious...!?
People from America can go to another country and contract the virus and then return to America with the virus... then this can be spread to other people in America by local American mosquitos...
People from other countries can also contract the virus and then arrive in America with the virus and then local American mosquitos can spread the virus to other American people...
Why is this so hard for some to understand...!?

What is wrong with you!!!???
Seriously!!!
The 'experts' have already said that mosquitos local to America are capable of transmitting the virus!!!
So what makes you think that someone can't turn up in America with the virus and then cant get bitten by a local mosquito and then this mosquito cant transmit it to another local person...!!!???
Please tell me?

Re: RIO & the ZIKA Virus
They get malaria carrying mossies on the Isle of Grain in North Kent. Travel on ships from West Africa and land on the marshes. The council spray the marshes to kill the buggers regularly.
They can and do live in Britain.
Not so sure about the ziko carrying blighters though.
To me a mossie is a mossie.

Yes, insidious little bastards; are going to give those at the CDC a real run for their money and since our Repugs have stymied the funding for that exact immediate need that just means there's just that many more days that the willy ole' mosquito is gaining ground and humanity is running foot races behind!

What is wrong with you!!!??? Go say that while looking into a MIRROR!
FFS go get someone to read all of the factual links & data to you; I can't help you when you just can't grasp that you have it ALL ASS BACWARDS!

2) what makes you think that a person arriving to America cant get bitten by a local mosquito that is capable of transmitting the virus?
3) what makes you think a mosquito cant bite soneone with the virus and then transmit it to another local person...!!!???
