WISHFUL thinking on the part of the conservatives on here, that the Labour Party is either in "meltdown" or in any way "finished"...
REALITY IS that both your own Tories and Labour are in disarray and damage control, looking for new leaders and bleeding their more dubious and shaky members..
FORTUNATELY for you lot of moaners and groaners ocver there, your former colonies -- Australia, NZ and Canada all have some slightly used but still relatively young former politicians and union leaders, all ripe for recycling and ready to reinvigorate your political system !
AS FOR any chance of the likes of UKIP and their ilk taking control over there, surely that's just more pure fantasy on the part of those rusty old Thatcherites miffed, Dean, Ragg's and company..
I didn't say the Labour party was finished, I said a friend thinks it is. He's a Labour supporter himself.
The fallout from Brexit is certainly spectacular at the moment - especially on here.

Re: Labour meltdown
The present Labour meltdown may ultimately be the best and healthiest thing for the country. Without a strong opposition and powerful and articulate opposition leader, the present Government will lurch much further to the right and without opposition will essentilly become a one party dictatorship.
Corbyn is a decent bloke, but he has always been uncomfortable with being leader,.
I think he will resign - either today or early this week, andthere is need for the remainder of the party to get their act together and put up only 2 or 3 viable candidates who can offer a serious and credible challenge.
My choices would be John Mann, Hilary Benn and Andy Burnham - all three fit the bill and would give Boris/May/C(h)unt/Gove a tough ride.

Re: Labour meltdown
Just now in Cameron's eu statement...
New Labour MP sworn into Parliament
Dr Rosena Allin-Khan has just been sworn in as MP for Tooting.
David Cameron jokes: "Let me welcome the new member for Tooting to the House.
" I'd advise her to keep her mobile phone on because she might be in the Shadow Cabinet by the end of the day..."

No, it's the lefties who have become rather childish, hostile, and abusive - because they didn't get what they expected.
I've never seen such outrage on here before - largely from people who don't even live in the UK.

I laughed too Tommy.
Must say Cameron is being very gallant in defeat.
