Thank's and that's why it's so interesting to hear about a 'SAUCE' vs 'GRAVY' or what is purchased VS what is a modified/homemade recipe ...there are just far too many choices over here ... grocery stores have a rough time providing shelf space for every brand name/every flavor of product that any given brand will bottle. Mind blowing!Cass wrote:Back to OP
4ever - British Brown sauce isn't quite like our steak sauce. It's a little bit fruitier and has a different sort of tanginess. I am sorry that I can't describe it better but I hate it. Luckily we can get it over here at our local grocery store so Mr. C is a happy camper. He gets through about 2-3 bottles every 2 months. YUCK. The HP stands for Houses of Parliament btw. Daddies does both a brown and red (ketchup) sauce although it is sweeter and spicer than HP and I have to admit I don't like the ketchup. I prefer Heinz organic.
As to my favorite breakfast I have both a British and American version
1) British - or really Scottish. 2 Eggs sunnyside up, 2 pieces of square sausage, 1 lincolnshire sausage, 2 rashers unsmoked back bacon, tattie scone, mushrooms, fried tomato, heinz baked beans and fried bread. And maybe a crumpet.
I think I am going to cry now.
2) American - 2 eggs sunny side up (scrambled or poached is 2nd), sausage patty, biscuit and proper sausage cream gravy, sourdough toast and a side of bacon done crispy.
In real life during the week, I have a vegetable and fruit smoothie and maybe a hardboiled egg and the above is for once on the weekend.
Vinegar is often the 'tangy' additive to the sauces like BBQ or Steak Sauce that will give it that little kick.
Work day morning breakfast was usually a slice of toast with Peanut Butter with my coffee, brush my teeth and out the door. Our larger 3-4 course breakfasts were for Saturday mornings; butt crack early if we had many commercial landscape jobs to do or supper that evening when the day was done. But Sundays - was our mega blow out brunch day. Early morning coffee and newspaper in bed or on the sofa, then a late brunch.
I still can't go out and do a full morning work if I've eaten a heavy breakfast - just makes me want to NAP.

My choice would be a combination of E and F (you can keep all the eggs, though).

I'm told I loved them as a kid, maybe I just got over them. I don't exactly hate them, but it's verging on that

Breakfast burritos can be great, but not at the 'heat & eat' places. Try the one at Whole Foods, only don't let them get too heavy on the potatoes. Potatoes are a 'filler' in order to short the customer on more expensive ingredients.
Try spinach scrambled eggs, with bacon, feta cheese and sour cream.

Hmmmm I should go back to making my own mini breakfast burritos with egg, cheese, sausage and spinach. Make them up and freeze them then nuke in microwave.
Thanks for the reminder people.
Today I had scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage, marbled rye toast and a fruit combo of cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple and strawberry.
