Should they have tasers and guns?
With the ever growing fear from terrorism will they be able to protect us?
ONLY Tasers and guns, Mr. Stormee !?!
I RECKON they should be issued with Howitzers, Bushmasters, and Apache gunships..
AT the very least !

Yes. That.
Police exist to make us all feel as though we could lose our lives at any moment, for any reason the latest insane politician has invented. They are most certainly not supposed to keep our communities safe so that we can be happy and feel secure.
Re: Our Police In General
considering for one moment that british police are no longer the friendly bobby on the beat, nor are in anyway interested in dealing with crime unless its news worthy, and most certainly are NOT there to prevent crime
I'd be te first to say a resounding NO
I most certainly wouldnt feel safe with a bunch of amateur rambo wannabes running around with whatever they are armed with, indeed I reckon i'd feel safer with a few selected citizens being allowed to carry weapons and undergoing training...but independant of the police....
either that or we have a dedicated anti terrorist force trained by te military and peronally liable if they fuck up or act in anyway non neutral....
the police in this country are now far to politicised and far to close to govt to be what they SHOULD be.....

Don't know. That's the truth.
Sometimes and in some situations, tasers are useful but as Vic said, in the wrong hands.....
I'll tell you what I think; guns will be here soon and it'll be like the US.
