Well racism can come from anyone regardless of colour....it's a bit daft to think that the whites have sole control of it.

Like I say...in too great a hurry to get to your conclusions.
If I were you I would delve into why he did what he did, and leave framing adjectives like "bullied" out of the analysis, because they merely encourage you to jump too quickly to your conclusion. I would not be in such a hurry to arrive at a conclusion before analyzing.
But it depends on the nature of the game you are playing. If you simply want to call out names, why pretend you are reasoning? Just call out the name and pay no attention to those who want to discuss it further. That's what some have done above...and it plays as well, as it is.
I've already done that - have you? Have you read anything about it at all?

No he doesn't. He thinks that they can't be racist because they have no "power" or something.
You reveal yourself with "...or something." In other words, you don't know what I am saying.
There is no such thing as racism without a history. I readily admit that Qwabe insulted the white lass. Was it racism? I don't think so. I believe it was reflexive anger in response to racism, not his.
Now if you want to discuss insults, and whether they are justified, and if they are directed at the correct person, there is probably more to the story.
But it's not racism. There can be no racism without history.

Well I didn't want to put words into your fingers Quill. What I said is pretty accurate though isn't it?
You haven't read what Qwabe said afterwards on Facebook then? Go and look.

Yes as a matter of fact, I started early on as a lawyer for the NAACP, working on desegregation suits. I also have a doctorate and taught race relations (among other things) at Rutgers University and the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, the City University of New York and the University of Arizona.
Thank you for the compliment...African Americans appear to feel quite comfortable in my presence.

Yes I have. About the "white tears"? It's a metaphor. He blames 'white racism' for the plight of black SAs, so it's a metaphor with entailments from the origin of the problem as he sees it.
It's interesting that you haven't once asked me about my own conclusions and judgments in the matter. Who knows? Behind it all I could be agreeing with you? All of this discussion has been about how to conduct a rational discussion about the incident...how to detach racism from discussion about racism.

I think you're not answering quill even though Rags has layed out this guys intentions and history via the links she's provided.
You're choosing to ignore them as usual.

Haha...no actually, they flocked to my services. I was teaching at the University of Arizona when the Arizona Attorney General's office rushed to hire me away. And mind you, that's in a conservative state like Arizona. Go figure.

I'm choosing my own path. That's allowed, isn't it? My opinion is that most here are leaping to judgment without rationally analyzing the situation.
Writ small...it's the way most wars start. Don't listen! Make assumptions! Attribute it all to the other side! Immediately go to tanks and guns!
We saw it at the start of WWI. We are seeing it presently in Syria.

Er no - he said she "burst into typical white tears". I know what it means. Actually, she was having a rough time because her mother is ill and she didn't need some arsehole having a go at her for being white. He thought that it was really funny that she burst into tears because of their fuckwittery. Then when a male colleague stuck up for her, they had a go at him too, and chased him "back to do his job". He then threatened to pick on other white people.

Of course. You can't describe a condition without experiencing that condition. Otherwise, you trivialize.
Or do you frequently just leap to your conclusions?

Well we can all hold grudges.
Thing is we can all go back far enough and feel we were treated unfairly somewhere back in the distant past.
Yes blacks were treated worse than whites (though the jews would no doubt argue that point) .....but we are what we are now......times have changed.

Look...see, eds. She's trying to bolster the history of the episode. You can't have a situation without describing that situation, and reliving the details. Ragg's rendition falls a bit short because it lacks a few hundred years.
But the logic is the same...you need to have a history.

Re: Black Racism- Or Is It?
I think anyone can be racist towards anyone and your whole "you gotta have history" thing is a load of gumph.
It's just new-age waffle that's you've told yourself Quill because you think you're more black than white.
You're what black people call a "180"
You don't have to bend over backwards and wear red, gold and green to prove that you're not racist.

What? That's why she was crying - which bit of that did you not understand? The guy laughed and said it was "white tears", which is was not.

New age waffle--new to you, I'm sure. Not new to people of other races. That's what history is all about.

I don't really care for labels. I like discussion. Labels are for the lack of mind...like conservatives. Haha--but that's another subject.

Well, as I've said...no one has asked me what I really think. At the top of the thread I showed sympathy for Ben's post. I believe Ben was critical of the guy too.
Qwabe is not someone I would spend time with.
