An overwhelming majority of the US House of Representatives signed a letter urging President Barack Obama to reject any actions by the United Nations that are biased against Israel. The letter undersigned by 394 House Republicans and Democrats — more than 90 percent of the 435 representatives — was sent to Obama Thursday amid reports that the Palestinian Authority might revive a draft resolution against Israel’s policies in the West Bank, similar to the one vetoed in 2011 at the Security Council by the United States. Rival pro-Israel groups praised the letter, with the older lobby, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, emphasizing the letter’s placing much of the burden of returning to negotiations on Palestinians, and J Street, a liberal group, noting that the letter does not appear to preclude US-led bids to revive the talks.

The US should “maintain its indispensable role of mediator” by closely coordinating its moves with “our democratic ally Israel” and by refusing “to support counterproductive efforts aimed at imposing a solution,” read the letter, initiated by Democrat Nita Lowey of New York and Republican Kay Granger of Texas, the two top lawmakers on the foreign operations subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee.

It also said the signatories were “deeply troubled by reports that one-sided initiatives may arise at the UN in the coming months concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Such efforts dangerously hinder the prospects for resuming direct negotiations.”

And they are fundamentally correct, the UN is utterly biased and also how there is no preconditions forced onto either side by the United Nations. By doing that they would be directly contravening with Resolution 242 which they voted through and passed.

Operative Paragraph One "Affirms that the fulfillment of Charter principles requires the establishment of a just and lasting peace in the Middle East which should include the application of both the following principles:

(i) Withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict;
(ii) Termination of all claims or states of belligerency and respect for and acknowledgment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every State in the area and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force."[4]

Which means both sides have to come to the table to bring about lasting peace.
As much as I am against the settlements, they will be apart of these negotiations. Whether they are pulled back or there is land swaps.
That means the UN is by trying to force the issue against its own resolutions, which call for both sides required to negotiate
Also the last time they were offered 98% of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and some land in Israel, which the Abbas refused
