Marijuana mum smokes bong as it 'makes me a better parent' while reading cannabis storybook to toddler daughter

A mum reads a storybook about cannabis to her young daughter after taking a hit from a bong and claiming smoking weed improves her parenting skills.

January Jones, a cannabis activist is seen in this video with her little girl - who looks about two-year-old - sitting on her lap, reading a book.

But it's no ordinary children's tale - called "It's Just a Plant", it's designed to teach youngsters all about the supposed benefits of cannabis.

January says she's open about her use of cannabis and uses the the book, by Ricardo Cortés, to educate her daughter about the drug.

And she claims it makes her a better parent.
She says: “With my early onset arthritis I wouldn’t even be able to pick up my daughter (without taking cannabis).

January is seen taking a huge hit from a bong outside her home in California, before adding: "Smoking cannabis helps me be a better mother.

Mum-of-two Cheryl Shuman, executive director of Moms of Marijuana, is seen hosting a weed-laced dinner party for her friends.

The event is dubbed “Come Dine with Cannabis”.

The shocking and provocative video focuses on a group of mothers in Beverley Hills who call themselves the Moms of Marijuana.

In the footage, they discuss their use of cannabis for medical reasons.

Well, if she has early onset arthritis the weed probably does help her, but I profoundly disagree with her reading a book about to a 2 year old.   Many people take highly addictive prescription drugs for arthritis that destroy their lives.

When I first read it I thought the same as you, I kind of still do, but perhaps becasue the mother has chosen to use this as her medicine for the rest of her life, she wants her daughter to view it this way and not in the negative "media way"?

Don't know. I mean the article says she's reading this book to her but it's obviously not the only book she reads to her?

Even if the drug does help her...why the hell is she sharing this with her baby daughter?
Time enough for the child to learn about drugs (the benefits and the drawbacks) when she is older.

It's probably not, and they probably used it for the article, but I still think that should be left until the child is older.  If she was on prescription drugs she wouldn't be reading her books about them.

I have no problem with her using weed for medical purposes, it does a lot less harm than prescription drugs and early onset arthritis is both crippling and excessively painful.

I think the whole "Marijuana mums" circle in their hometown is pretty stupid and probably half of them have invented reasons to join in and bang on a bong.

I think drinkers are more uninhibited actually. Smokers think deeper and don't get all freaked out like drinkers do.

Tbh, a mother who smokes weed could pososnly be a "calmer" mother than one who drinks.
I won't say "better" as that depends upon a whole heap of things.

I absolutely agree.  Drinking tends to make a lot of people aggressive and it's not nice to be around when it happens.

I don't either, but I seem to have met too many of them.  I'm like you, love anybody and everybody and want to have fun.

Life should be fun, drinking should be fun, Sex should be fun....we are only here to party once X
