It's just been revealed that it was actually the slipway, which at the very bottom is smothered in algae. The car slid into the water. How tragic.

I know. I guess the driver didn't think of the danger. It's used as an access point for cars getting onto the ferry so perhaps he thought it safe. It's horrific. I can't imagine the terror they felt before they died.

Yes, but the algae is only on the slipway itself. He had time and room to turn round before he got to the slipway. Perhaps I'm not looking at the right bit but the slipway just leads straight to the water, so one wouldn't even attempt to go down it. Of course it was dark by then so maybe he got confused.

He obviously went down the slipway when he shouldn't have.

I feel sorry for the witnesses. I think I'd be traumatized forever after seeing that. Being unable to help, and watching them die and hearing those kids screaming. That guy who jumped in is a hero.

I have no idea. He's having one of his manic episodes. I'm not sure what rules there are here for disrupting threads but he's doing it, and with it being quite a sensitive topic, it's in poor taste and just makes him look like a fool. I'm not going to respond to his rantings here.

The mother survived as she was in England on a hen night. She says she's only carrying on because of her baby girl who survived. That poor woman. Life is so cruel at times.
