Internet security Empty Internet security

Post by stardesk Sun Mar 20, 2016 5:04 pm

Hi folks, I was going to change my ID but no need to now, I've sorted the problem.
I had a mesage from McAfee that my subs were a week behind, so I immediately phoned them and debited my a/c then did a thorough scan. The scan found 7 viruses and a trojan which of course were immediately deleted.
While I was off-security someone had hacked into my stardesk email a/c and sent an obnoxious email to one of my wife's friends. I had to bear the brunt of her anger when she came home, thinking it was me.

So, be warned, keep your security suite up to date.

I don't pay for my security. I use a free one and it's brilliant

Glad you got it sorted.

I use a free one as well -- Avira. All you have to deal with is occasional pop-up ads, and the software seems to do a really good job.

Hi Ben. Thanks for that, but are the free ones as good and versatile as McAfee?

Not knowing your needs, I can't really say -- it suits me just fine, though.
