George Osborne will unveil the proposals in his Budget speech on Wednesday, but the prospect of longer school days already has people speculating about what they should be used for - and practical skills seem to come out on top.

I think this is a good idea and can think of many benefits for children here

Not sure didge.....my son currently works his behind off and adding an extra hour? I mean he stays behind after school to do extra work anyway and also does homework....Id like to hear why you think it's a good idea though? I can't see a postitve at the moment.

We should have a good edificayshun system with really good teachuz, stop the unimportant lessons and forunuz slowing everyone down, schools have become worse since the invasion.
The no need for longer hours.

Kids today may get more qualifications at school but don't get the jobs cuts there ain't any worth having
