No I dont but every year you get people saying about hoping the new one is better than the old one regardless of how good the old year was to them. Then you get the "hope everyone is better than the last" which is like I say patently ridiculous.

Yes for some people any year will have been the worst ever but for some other people it will have been the best ever and they should not be made to feel they have to expect better each year as that is ungrateful for what has gone.

How about thinking about the old year and remembering the good days to hope we have more like them while accepting the bad days and wishing they dont repeat.
