Racism? Something happened at the 2016 Oscars...
First topic message reminder :
Chris Rock was the host of the 2016 Oscars, this year.
He's black, liberal, Democrat, and an ardent Obama supporter.
Even his stand-up comedy is 100% pro-Obama, pro-liberal, and very anti-conservative/Republican/Bush.
I only mention his political proclivities as background, for those who aren't familiar with him or his comedy material.
During his opening monologue at the 2016 Oscars, Rock wasted no time confronting the big elephant in the room: Hollywood racism.
You can watch Chris Rock's opening monologue in its entirety, here:

Is it true? Are Hollywood Liberals racists? Are most liberals racist but are just subtle about it, in a "sorority racist" kind of way?
I'm not labeling anyone a racist. This is just to open a forum to discuss. I hadn't really thought about Hollywood being racist until all the protests of the Oscars, and then Chris Rock affirming it's existence, albeit in a comedic forum.

http://www.theguardian.com/film/2016/feb/29/chris-rock-at-the-oscars-youre-damn-right-hollywoods-racist“Is Hollywood racist?” he asked. “You’re damn right Hollywood’s racist.” Rock qualified his comments by saying that the industry was not “burning cross racist ... it’s a different type of racist”.
The host then told a story about attending a fundraiser at the White House, and telling the President that his fellow – white – showbiz guests “don’t hire black people and they’re the nicest white people on earth; they’re liberals.”
"Their prejudice", he continued, "is 'sorority racist'; like ‘We like you, Ronda, but you’re not a Kappa.’”

Thanks, Didge. I do see your point, as a matter of principle. I don't think Ben used IT maliciously, though.
I'm fine with anyone abbreviating my name as IT. I know it's preferable to typing out IndependentThoughts every time.

No worries Independent
I think its always prudent to ask a poster though first out of common decency whether you want to be refereed a certain way

You still miss the point after Ben making an issue over this by how he would not respond Eddie
Seriously, can you not see that?

No we will have to agree to differ I'm afraid.
He abbreviated a name and it had nothing to do with the issue other than the word and the fact that IT happens to be the abbreviated word for a posters name

It has everything to do with it Eddie
Its called being hypocritical, because you cannot make an ultimatum to posters when you are a poster doing the same, no matter how you meant it to be.
It still spells out as IT and not I.T. which I would have had no issue with
