I never really got into it. It seems to me that not long after RSS was popularized, multi-tab browsing did away with a lot of its usefulness.

On that note -- Google is getting rid of its Reader product:

I never used RSS, so I'll not miss it. I know a lot of the old SN users had RSS links in their profiles. I wasn't even sure what that was at the time. Wink

Actually I'm still confused about RSS. As I read some more about it. I have never tried it. The links I was remembering are ICQ links. Whatever that is.

Oh, well.

Just because Google is killing off their Reader client doesn't mean the RSS standard is going to die. There are plenty of free RSS applications that run on your computer. I personally prefer to use RSS to see if a site has anything I want to view. As a matter of fact, I used RSS to find this particular post here on NewsFix.
