Trump's Muslim ban popular amongst Republicans, unpopular with American public
More than half of Americans disagree with Donald Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the U.S., according to an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll out Thursday.
Fifty-seven percent of Americans oppose the billionaire’s call for a “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on.” But 25 percent of those polled support the idea.
Trump's proposed Muslim ban has been widely criticized, with the White House and Republicans from House Speaker Paul Ryan to former Vice President Dick Cheney condemning the idea.
But support for Trump's plan is somewhat higher among Republicans, 42 of whom support it, with 36 percent opposed.

BUT ...
... he was roundly denounced by many other Republicans — not only rival presidential candidates (Jeb Bush called him "unhinged), but House Speaker Paul Ryan (who said, "This is not conservatism") and former Vice President Dick Cheney (who said Trump's idea "goes against everything we stand for").
But that doesn't appear to have damaged Trump's standing among Republican primary voters. Instead, in the past few days, Trump has actually risen in several polls, just as he did after earlier controversies.
A CBS News/New York Times survey released Thursday found Trump commanding the support of 35% of Republican primary voters nationwide, his highest result in that poll all year.

Once again we see that the hateful Republicans don't represent the majority of Americans.

True. Right now they only represent 28% of Americans. Democrats represent 47%. The big factor is the independent vote. But I've heard a lot of hard-RW Republicans damning Trump and the Tea Party right.

Only 57% opposed it? Maybe you should be worried ...

It's worrisome, but remember only 25 percent actually support it.

That's Trump figures. No doubt he has got a following. But here are the overall figures:
