Now that my beloved ADO forum has gone i'll chat to you here about the Oculus Rift.

Anybody got one of the dev kits?

Excited about the dev kit 2 and the consumer version?? You will be!

I'm interested.
can you actaully run existing games with it?

my main concern is that none of the major dev studios will pick it up, can see that Valve have with TF2 and hawken, both claim to be occulus ready.

but it does look pretty cool, probably cool enough for me make a reasonable effort to get it working :::grouch::

Oh, it's mind-blowingly cool veya.

Have had one for a few months now.

Go to the forum at their website and you will see that most games are playable.

Skyrim etc.

It's what men have dreamt about for 20 years. And it's bloody happening!

$300US ? that is cheaper than I expected.

Is there anything else I will need? (already got a high end gaming rig)

still iffy not sure if i should just wait till the cosumer version?????

You just need a good rig veya.

The consumer version should be out Q4 of 2014 but they have said they will be bringing out a dev kit 2 some time before that.

The dev kit really is amazing - there is nothing like it, but... it doesn't give the wonderful visuals we're used to with HD TV's etc...

I recommend you spend a little time reading up on it and get yourself all worked up and excited and get the dev kit 2.
