Walking my dog, I (and he) have seen a lot of local critters recently. I decided to take a photo of this beaut, a Texas Spiny Lizard, the other day -- he blends in well with the bark of the tree, but they will quickly hide when they see someone coming -- they don't like posing for photos, so I circled it so it's easier to see. This one is nearly a foot long, we see them everywhere during the summer:

Anybody else have local "wildlife" photos to share?

No sadly.
But was just thinking as I looked out of my window, there are less cats here than at my old place.
No one seems to own a cat.

No cats = no shit in my garden cheers

Sorry. That's not quite what you were looking for is it? Neutral

Yeah, no. Maybe some UK foxes, Australian cobraspiderdiles or whichever creatures Les has seen in Thailand Smile Australians are known to freak out when they come to the U.S. and see squirrels:

"How comedic are squirrels?!" Hemsworth cries as one scampers past him at one point. "We don't have squirrels in Australia. The first time I saw a squirrel was at a meeting at Disney. I was like, 'What the fuck?!'" Later, while deep in thought explaining his Hunger Games character Gale, Hemsworth is again distracted by a squirrel. "Look! It's like a cartoon," he squeals. "You're not real!"

Those are awesome, FTL! At some of the parks around here we have various frogs and box turtles. We even had an alligator in one of our rivers recently, but it was thought to have been swept by flooding & normally wouldn't have gotten so close to a populated area.
