What Are Palestinians Doing With U.S. Money?

• Palestinian Authority (PA) Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah did not tell the visiting U.S. Congressmen that the $4.5 billion the Americans invested in promoting Palestinian democracy went down the drain or ended up in secret Swiss bank accounts. Nor did he tell the Congressman that the Palestinians do not have a functioning parliament or a free media under the PA in the West Bank or under Hamas in the Gaza Strip. And, of course, Hamdallah never told the Congressman that for Palestinians, presidential and parliamentary elections remain a remote dream.
  
• The refusal of the international community back then to hold Arafat accountable was the main reason a majority of Palestinians were driven into the open arms of Hamas. Palestinians saw no improvement in their living conditions, mainly as a result of the PA's corruption. That is why they turned to Hamas, which promised them change, reform and an end to financial corruption.
  
• The Americans and Europeans are therefore responsible for Hamas's rise to power.
  
• One does not have to be an expert on Palestinian affairs to see that the billions of dollars have neither created democracy for the Palestinians nor boosted the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. The "investment" in Palestinian democracy and peace with Israel has been a complete failure because of the refusal of the U.S. Administration to hold the Palestinian Authority fully accountable.
  
• Unless Western donors demand that the PA use their money to bring democracy to its people and prepare them for peace, the prospects of reviving any peace process will remain zero.

Sweety money compared to the billions poured into Israel's military machine when they are actively building new settlements day by day and costing billions to do so.
Quill wrote a brilliant article on this a while back which summed it up completely.
It's all wrong that money is filtered away by whoever does it but I have never seeen a detailed balance sheet published to back all this up.

I did. Have you seen any balanced or audited accounts about where the money actually went (from both sides). We had a thread on this a while back didn't we?

I have never seen such poor debating in all my life

This debate is about money spent on the Palestinians.

Yes so far we have views based on money to Israel which is a no brainer given that Israel has been attcked so many times by Arab nations and terrorists

We then have the usual tactic of trying to deligitimize the source of the argument based on the people who are arguing and making the case. That does nothing to change the points made whether you dislike the source or not.

That is the second poor deflection made and this is done so by using a biased source as much as this one is also. None of which takes anything away from the points being made. Its absurd and is the tactics of apologists

WE then have arguments on occupation, what nonsense as seen which I already argued and proved does not count for Gaza at all and even more when I have shown they used materials to build tunnels to attack Israel with badly needed materials for the citizens.

So its clear all I have seen so far is the most desperpate attempt to avoid actually talking about the topic at hand.

Now if you want to start a debate on the US funding Israel be my guest on a new thread but all I am seeing is the worst apologist tactics for the main points made.
