limiting replies to just one quote?


cool I have just seen that you can set up a poll. I wonder if it will work

He's pushing for a moderators position so that he can wield the ban button on a couple of people that he doesn't like, if anyone from the RW deserved such a position it would be Phildidge because he's RW and the most reasonable of all the RW posters here in my humble opinion.

I'd like to obey the vox populi on this one, but as I said, I can't figure out how to do it. I may post a handy instruction manual on how to limit your replies to one quote, however. It's pretty simple.

Admin>General>Message and Emails>Configuration>Scroll down until you find ?Quote limit at and type the limit to 1.

Thanks for the great tip and to Lurker for alerting me to it! I've limited the number of quotes to two. I think that's a good compromise that allows people to catch up a bit without getting inundated, if they haven't been watching the whole conversation. I'd appreciate any feedback as to how that works for everyone.

I was going to suggest a limit of two quotes as well - as Victor had set back on SpeakFree - but was beaten to the punch...     

TWO quotes can make it easier to follow a dialogue within a thread ~ whereas only a one quote limit would mean a lot more "back-tracking" while trying to follow said thread..
