Gunmen attack two tourist hotels in Tunisia
First topic message reminder :
Tunisia: Gunmen Attack Two Tourist Hotels
Gunmen have killed at least 27 people in an attack on two tourist hotels in a Tunisian town popular with British holidaymakers.
Tourists fled from the beach in Sousse to take refuge in hotel rooms after guns were fired on the beach.
One man said his son saw someone get shot as he raced back to the hotel from the sea.
Photographs seen by Sky News show one man in his 60s or 70s lying in a pool of blood in his swimming shorts.

However... given the well known high level of security risk there plus the subsequent high level of security that must have been involved as a counter measure... how was such an attack allowed to get through...!?
I agree and how are they ever going to make it safe ?

Safety is unquestionably the primary responsibility.

This is another in a long line of such atrocities. I cannot imagine the terror those people felt.
I watched in awe the hotel workers and locals chasing the gunman with disregard for their own safety. They are going to be the long term victims. Action must be taken now, massive and public action to try and support Tunisian tourism and to stop Tunisia coming under the grasp of ISIS

well said, the terrorism needs worldwide condemnation, especially by the leaders of Muslim countries, if Muslims want to show they really are different to these murderers they must rise up now in one voice and condemn the actions of these scum...

Why are Western nations, apart from a bit of bombing and providing a few arms, doing nothing to stop ISIS? All we hear is a lot of talk. Unless we get together with other nations as we did when Kuwait was invaded they will get stronger and stronger until they will be much harder to stop. As proven by the Kurds, when ISIS meet up with well trained soldiers instead of women and children they can be easily beaten. WHY are we waiting?

They will if ISIS bring the fight to Western nations.

In the mean time thousands of innocent men, women and children are being murdered, raped and tortured, it needs to be stopped NOW!

So what should be done? Should bombs be dropped so everyone can howl about civilians being killed? Been there, done that - remember? What did it achieve? Not much in the long run.

Liberating Kuwait had a goal. The equivalent goal in this instance would have been to eradicate this gunman. Well...he's been eradicated.
People who propose military action (war) for a police action, never face the question of an endgame: what next? After you kill the gunman and you've got an army where he fell, what is it you want to do? After all, it will be your call.
When Rome took Carthage, they salted the land so nothing would grow. A lot of good that did.

their own friends and family need to rat the nutters out, so they can be eradicated at the root, their leaders need to speak out about the terrorist acts not condone them in any way...
but of course none of that will happen, the only question left is why won't it happen??

They mentioned in the news over the weekend that there are more than 3.000 Tunisians fighting for ISIS. That's proportionately more than any other nation.

Wow. That's an awful lot for one country. It makes you wonder why they chose to attack Tunisia really?

Donno...was he attacking Tunisia, or westerners on a tourist beach? Cameron mentioned he was "a gunman, thought to have been part of a network inspired by militants from Islamic State." I don't think they know that much (or, are telling) about the attacker(s):
BBS wrote:The Tunisian authorities have said they believe the 23-year-old student had help with the attack, and several people have been arrested. One of those detained is reported to be Mr Rezgui's flatmate, according to local media.

if you were that way inclined in your thinking you could say because they do the terrorist attack, the visitors stop coming, 15% of the countries income is lost that brings hardship, the people get annoyed at the govt, the radicals move in and we have another isis stronghold....
