Um ... what more appropriate audience could you POSSIBLY find, for a speech about female equality, than a room full of girls who are forced by their religion to dress like that?

... and they are all showing an equal united front...!

But that seems to be ok when it is others who are not being equally represented...!!!???

I see now Tommy is being racist again and now classing all Muslims as Brown in the UK. Not British or British Asian, but brown. Anyway to the point at hand and the really inane article, being as she has also been to churches to give speeches. Now again Christianity preaches discrimination against women both in the Old and New Testament and she comes from a country where is a sizable amount of Evangelical conservative Christians who treat women like doormats. At least she is giving a speech to Girls who do need to hear this being as they are also a follow of a different Abrahamic faith which discriminates against women. States people go to many venues to give speeches and here was one place that it was needed.

The only irony is how the writer never made any such similar view to her many visits to other religious places of worship, religious schools etc.

In Boston many are descended from the Irish yet the Irish descendants are a minority in the country.
There are 35 million American people descended from the Irish, more than the population of Ireland of which has only 4 plus million.

Some of our schools have had rating downgraded for not being 'diverse' enough and too white...

Interesting a call to ban a religion if the view is it discriminates against women, which would mean Christianity and Judaism also. Though religion is a state of mind through faith and belief, which would mean you would also have to ban Political parties that hold sexist views.
Banning is not the answer or to criminalize something as it just creates a further divide into society, what is key is to educate, where as seen once many Christians held sexist and discriminating beliefs, they now ignore these views from the bible except the literal believers who in time with education will be view and far between than goodness.
