Re: what absolute certainties are there in life??
Sadly, I don't think anyone goes without suffering, but there are people on the other hand who experience very little joy.
It's a near certainty that you'll have to deal with other people
You will get sick, you will experience discomfort and pain. You will use something as a tool. You will try to learn to communicate with others. You will try to figure out what you want in life and reach for it.

in reality our certanties are very limited it seems, do we seek truths and accept truths to make our lives more acceptable.Ben_Reilly wrote:Sadly, I don't think anyone goes without suffering, but there are people on the other hand who experience very little joy.

we may seek truths....on finding them........
far too many, instead, accept unproven myths and lies.....

You might seek truths, or you might be born with a mental impairment that means you don't really have the equipment to ponder things like that -- or you might be a sociopath and find early on that the only thing that means anything to you is getting what you want.

i wonder which of those ideas are the best chance at a long and happy life??Ben_Reilly wrote:You might seek truths, or you might be born with a mental impairment that means you don't really have the equipment to ponder things like that -- or you might be a sociopath and find early on that the only thing that means anything to you is getting what you want.
truths are good to have but could be taken from you...
mental impairment sounds bad but it could make yo oblivious to the stress and strain of life ,,
sociopath hey you are getting what you think yu want to make you happy, as long as you do concern yourself with any misery you cause along the way it could be good..
or do we all have each one in lesser or greater degrees...
