I was about 15 when that song first came out( I used to have the radio when i was doing it), i was doing a Saturday job to save for a music system, i used to work in an old fashioned department store....A Victorian lift!....FFS!...It was very scary to try to use it, and it was an art to try to navigate it, in the 80's it was very scary as a young lad....I have fond memories of it though, the customers used to let me off, when i didn't used to get it right sometimes and they had to step up a bit!

It was a bloody lever!

To get to the floor you had to know when to relax it at the exact moment!......I only did the relief shift....They had a cripple doing it the rest of the time, i was on sales the rest of the time.....But i would say that enjoyed learning how to use that lift, and getting to the right floor level, so that there wasn't a step!

Honesty!....A Lift full of customers in a lift!...It's Victorian!...You had to close the doors then try again....It was horrible!

IT IS SO TRUE SO FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!.....YOU KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE AND YOU ARE DOING THINGS RIGHT....BUT SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO POST IT IN CAPITAL LETTERS TO YOURSELF BECAUSE THE POWERS THAT BE TRY TO TELL THAT YOU AREN'T!.....YOU KNOW 100% THAT YOU ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING....SO JUST LAY OFF YOURSELF!
