In Osbornes and Camerons dystopian Sheriff of Nottingham world, the rich would pay less tax than the servants.
All sound unrealistic, but he is testing the waters.

You make a valid point, LW. "We have no intentions of raising VAT" was an outright and damning lie , as it had already be already discussed at shadow cabinet level and approved in 2009 by Cameron and Osborne
One has to assume that EVERY financial scenario has been discussed and run through the computer simulators.
The problem is real people, who get hurt and bankrupted by the immoral philosophy and mantra of hurt the poor to help the rich,
