MK Shaked Tells President Obama to Back Off
Demanding that Obama stop interfering in Israel's internal affairs, Shaked notes she doesn't chastise the US for building in Florida.
(She is saying that Americans build on American soil, she considers Palestine to be Israeli soil, as do her party)
In an interview last week US President Barack Obama warned that the White House was "evaluating its options" vis-a-vis imposing a two-state solution to end the Arab-Israeli conflict.
The announcement, which trailed on the heels of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's reelection, has been viewed by some as a sort of punishment for controversial comments made by Netanyahu in the last days of his campaign.
Unhappy with the President's comments, MK Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) demanded Monday that Obama stop interfering in the internal affairs of the Jewish State.
"Just as I don't determine Obama's ministers, he does not have to determine for us," Shaked said during an interview with the Knesset Channel. "The United Stated needs to respect the will of Israeli people."
"Settlement building will be one of the basic guidelines of the next government," she continued, "and just as I don't interfere in American if they build in Florida or California, they don't need to interfere in building in Judea and Samaria."
During the interview, Shaked was also which ministerial portfolio she'd like to receive once the next government is established.
She replied: "Before the election, I wanted public security or justice, but I will not talk to the media at the moment about my personal desires or those of other members of my party."
Shaked's silence on the matter could stem from reports that she is interested in the education portfolio - a highly sought-after position currently causing infighting within the Likud party.

This is the same member of Netanyahu's government who said:
She makes no bones about the fact that Israel intends to have every square inch of Palestine.

Did they not colonise the lands and take the lands and now own the lands off the indegenious Indians?
No such thing as a palestinian people before the British Mandate of Palestine they called themselves many things but not Palestinians.

The two state solution was intended to remedy the fact that Israel does not want to give Palestinians citizenship or voting rights, was it not? So in fairness, you give them a state of their own.
Netanyahu's candid admission that he opposes a two state solution changes the game completely. All that the US was aiming for is dashed. As soon as we get Congress back in the hands of Democrats in 2016, we may see the US with a completely new outlook in the Middle East.
