A true heir to Blair: Cameron heckled by older audience



David Cameron has been heckled by an audience of pensioners this morning over the Government's record on the health service.

The trouble came after the PM said he had protected health and care budgets. He was then accused of lying, with hecklers yelling:

“That’s not true. You’ve cut social care. It’s a lie.”

Following the difficult question and answer session, the PM turned to the audience and thanked them for their "lively interactions".

The episode is being seen as the worst case of heckling to hit Cam during his premiership.

For some, the scene was reminiscent of Tony Blair's speech to the Women's Institute back in the year 2000, when the then Prime Minister was slow hand-clapped.

Of course, Cameron did once say that he was the ‘heir to Blair’....
