'She's suffering from Bone-idle-itis': Mum writes best ever note to PE teacher Empty 'She's suffering from Bone-idle-itis': Mum writes best ever note to PE teacher

It’s a rite of passage – asking your mum to write a letter, excusing you from PE class at school. Any sob story will do: a blocked nose, sore knee, a rash.
And while some mother’s are (occasionally) obliging, others are, well, a little less willing to bend the rules.
Take Olivia’s. The schoolgirl - whose last name isn’t known - begged her mum to write such a note. The letter was duly penned.
So imagine her daughter's surprise when she discovered what it said:
Olivia has requested that I write her a note for PE. Here it is...
Olivia is perfectly fit and well to take part in her PE lesson today.
The only thing she's suffering with is a severe case of Bone-idle-itus!
Olivia's complaint is, it's too cold to participate.
Might I suggest a few extra laps to warm her up?
Please return to Olivia after reading
Regards.
Sam posted the letter on Facebook, with the words: “Well here you go Olivia here’s your note for PE, it will be sealed & in an envelope ready for her to hand to the head in the morning.”
It has since been shared more than 3,000 times. Whether the message ever reached Olivia’s teacher isn’t known.

This week, a survey found that women are half as likely to have exercised regularly since childhood, compared to men.
In a study of more than 2,000 adults, just one in six women (17 per cent) said they'd regularly exercised over the course of their lives, compared to one in three men (36 per cent).
More than half of women said they had never exercised on a regular basis (59 per cent), compared to just a third of men (33 per cent).
The findings are in line with recent research from Sport England, which found two million more men than women exercise or play sport - and that 75 per cent of women would like to do more
Earlier this year, the grassroots sport organisation launched its This Girl Can campaign, aimed at getting more women active.
The ads feature women of all ages, colours, shapes and sizes and show that any woman can exercise regardless of her skills, age or weight.
Ciaran Bird, managing director of CBRE, which partners with England Rugby’s All Schools programme, said:
“Taking part in sport not only has long-term health and well-being benefits but it also develops the so called ‘soft skills’ of communication, teamwork and confidence that over a lifetime will boost employability.”
