UK unemployment falls to 1.86m
UK unemployment has fallen by 102,000 to 1.86 million in the three months to January, official figures show.
The unemployment rate remains at 5.7% but the number of people in work is at an all-time high, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.
The number of people claiming Jobseeker's Allowance also fell to 791,200, its lowest level since 2008.
Average earnings in the three months to January, including bonuses, rose 1.8% compared with a year earlier.
Regular pay, which excludes bonus payments, rose by 1.6%, in the same period compared with a year ago.
It means earnings continue to outstrip consumer price index (CPI) inflation, which official figures showed fell to a record low of 0.3% in January.

A telling statistic by any measure. A recovery based on that is no recovery for all those affected by Osborne's austerity.
Get them out.

Zero hours contracts, those who have a zero hours contract and are not allowed to work for anyone else so they can be called in at any time.
The couldn't find a full time job are those existing on a part time, but want a full time job.
Zero hours workers are those doing zero hours jobs without a permanent contract.
Could not find a permanent job are those temping because they can't find permanent.
On goverment training schemes, they are taken off the list of those looking for work.
Unpaid family members, those working in family firms for free who would like to be employed and paid.
Anyone sanctioned is taken off the unemployment list as well, even though most are appealing it.

Why is it people seem to think they know if people are happy or not in zero hour contracts, when the vast majority of them are being as they take on such roles that suit them.
Unemployment is down and yet they do not look at this rightly as a positive but to use in some lame political view.
More people are in work and wages are rising, which brings a better feel good factor to people and the trend is going in the right direction.
Again it is those with negative views that cannot see good in anything and try to bring others down with their negativity which is what is wrong with a certain element in society today.
