Happy Mother's Day...
... to the Mum's around the world wherever you are, you are pure diamonds you are.
And it's a double for me because it's also my wife's birthday as well.

FGS! Sometimes you really come out with stuff that is so backward, bigotted and ignorant it's beyond belief:
The true origins of Mothering Sunday
Somewhere beneath the cards and bouquets of flowers lies an historical and Christian tradition that goes back centuries, says Christopher Howse.

Re: Happy Mother's Day...
All these "days" are just an excuse to get more money out of the public.
"Mothers Day" is the worst as it gets children to spend all their pocket money on rubbish with inflated prices!

Re: Happy Mother's Day...
The UK had Mothering Day for a long time, but that's a Christian celebration of the "Mothering Church." Nobody had Mother's Day until it was invented in the U.S. -- Australia, Canada and New Zealand adopted the same celebration date as it was in the U.S., while the UK folded it into Mothering Day and now the original intent of "Mothering Day" is largely forgotten.
Nicko, the founder of Mother's Day would agree with you -- after she saw it turned into another commercial holiday, she tried to have it banned. She thought it should be celebrated by hand-writing your mother a letter of appreciation
