A professional Muslim snooker player had to defend himself after being seen wearing a waistcoat with the word "ISIS" stitched into it.

Rory McLeod, the only British Muslim on the professional circuit, was playing in the Welsh Open when eagle eyed observers spotted the word during his match withRonnie O'Sullivan.

The 43-year-old has since been pressured into denying the word was a show of support for the Islamic State terrorist organisation.

McLeod has revealed that the word was simply the logo of UK company ISIS Business Solutions who have sponsored him for the past 14 years.

A number of people took to social media to question McLeod during the match.

One Twitter user wrote: "Rory Mcleod has got ISIS on his waistcoat ....is this guy for real????"

While another posted: "Does that say ISIS on Rory McLeod's waistcoat? If so, that's unfortunate for a couple of reasons".

McLeod lost the match to O'Sullivan 4-2, who was knocked out himself in the next round on Wednesday.
