Well, the brain dead Americans have voted for the bottom of the barrel in just about every election. The lunatics are now completely in charge of the insane asylum. This country has just been flushed down the drain. If I was rich I'd move to Denmark.

IF...

Remember the Tea Party!  The Republican Party is too split to agree on any legislation to put to Obama.  I doubt they will agree on anything in the next two years, except to vote to repeal the Affordable (Health) Care Act (ACA).

And I question whether they will do that, given how popular the ACA has become. This may be the period where the Democrats become popular all over again...just watching Republicans shoot themselves in the foot.

I found this article to be a bit upbeat. We could hope that we will survive the stupid Republican victory:

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2014/11/04/chill-out-liberals-the-republicans-took-the-senate-and-thats-terrible-for-them/

Now that they have the Senate, conservatives will demand that the GOP repeal/defund Obamacare but the ACA is too deeply entrenched now. Attacking people’s healthcare is a sure path to electoral suicide but the base won’t care because they hate Obama with a blind rage. If Republicans don’t try, the base will turn on them and here come the primaries from the far right.
Impeachment!!!! The base and Fox News want impeachment proceedings so badly they can taste it. The base is dumb enough to think it will work, Fox simply wants the massive ratings the doomed-to-fail impeachment hearings will bring. Republicans in the Senate still remember how much damage their last attempt to impeach a Democratic president did and won’t want to even try. And then here come the primaries from the far right again.
The House will pass insane bills and the Senate will try to smooth out the extremism to attract even a handful of Democrats. The House GOP will froth at the mouth and here come those primary challenges.
Ted Cruz will be running for president and will take every opportunity to undermine Mitch McConnell as Senate Majority Leader. Cruz already has a track record of sabotaging the GOP for his own personal gain. Expect that to get worse.
Several other Republicans will be running for president as well and they will be loudly demagoging to the farthest of the far right. Expect normal humans to be nauseated.
Mitch McConnell has already said he will be trying to blackmail President Obama at every opportunity with threatened shutdowns. How do you think that’s going to go over with the public?

Another take on the election. I hope they are right and aren't just putting lipstick on a pig:

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/nov/04/republicans-win-big-election-midterms

In the end, there was no Republican wave. Indeed, it was barely a ripple. The Republicans won the US midterms – there’s no denying that – but they didn’t win big. This election cycle included not only conservative-friendly states but a disproportionate number of competitive states in which incumbent Democrats were stepping down. Democrats have not won Louisiana or Arkansas in a presidential election since 1996, Georgia since 1992 and Alaska since 1964. A Democrat loss in these places is no great surprise. They were low-hanging fruit, and Republicans expended a lot of energy – and even more money – trying to get to it. Democrats fared better on Tuesday night than they did in 2010, two years after which Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney. States where Democrats unexpectedly struggled, like Virginia or Florida, in the governor’s races, are swing states that are always in play.

yup. as I said to a friend earlier the only good thing is that they will bog down the country even more and 2016 will be Hilary's.

The Republicans have spent the past several years giving an object lesson on how to control the country without controlling the Senate. Now they're going to need at least six, maybe as many as eight, members of the Democratic Caucus to overcome the filibuster. That will mean any bill making it to Obama's desk should be loaded with concessions to Democrats.

Ted Cruz refused to say whether or not he would support Mitch McConnell for Senate majority leader even after his party secured control of both chambers on Tuesday night.

Appearing on CNN, Cruz (R-Texas) was discussing the midterm election results when Wolf Blitzer asked if he would get behind McConnell (R-Ky.).

"That will be a decision for the conference to make next week," Cruz said.

Blitzer pressed the Texas senator on the issue, but he stayed mum.

Cruz also remained tight-lipped about his support for the Kentucky senator in an interview with The Washington Post that was published on Sunday.

Pundits have speculated that Cruz may be considering vying for the seat himself.
