I Think it at the point now, where the UN needs to step up and say Palestine you have lost, let us remove the innocents and if you still wish to fight to the death (which will inevitable be yours) so be it.... But lets us move the innocents first

I think Israel is Supposed to be a Modern Nation, therefore it should meet international exceptions regarding the humane treatment of Civilians and combatants.

So how will we find a way out? With Israeli and Palestinian leaders digging in, the current conflict seems unlikely to end soon. Perhaps British broadcaster Jon Snow put it best when he said the only way is to find a resolution as he wept after taking a flight out of the region recently.

“I wept for two peoples with remarkable similarities. Two peoples of extraordinary gifts and ability. Two peoples living in an area far smaller than England, one of which besieges the other, both of which target each other’s civilians,” he wrote on his blog.

“This is humankind’s most grievous cancer, for its cells infect conflicts in every corner of the world. We fail as humankind if we do not devise a coming-together. Our leaders, as a vast priority, have to try and try again to use every mechanism in our rare animal capacity — our considerable intellects — to bring these peoples to resolution whatever the cost.”

Yes it is a war, but Israel have backed Gaza into a corner, cut off supplies leaving them with a crappy infrastructure. Gaza is also much smaller than Israel so they are limited in how they can protect citizens in any case (even if they wanted to) unlike Israel.

The problem I have is the way people are making excuses for Israel. Quill for sure almost falls over himself in throwing up all sorts of ways to make it seem as though Israel is justified. It is appalling. Again Hamas is rightly condemned all the time- the problem for some of us however is that some seem to infer that Israel is 'the good guy' in all this- and using their previous persecutions as somehow meaning we should understand them is repulsive tbh.

   Gaza and the West Bank could probably fit within the councils areas of outer Sydney suburbs like Blacktown, Parramatta or Windsor. Israel can fit within the Hunter Valley, with room to spare..

Israel doesn't even appear on world maps and globes ~ lucky to even find their names most of the time (and when it does, there's likely only to be an arrow pointing to where Tel Aviv might be..).

That IMO is the difference her from most other barbaric conflicts.  People have fled Syria, Iraq etc and maybe refugees which is hearttugging but at least they can get out.

Israel prevents any from leaving even the injured and the dying.

They were constructed as a means to provide the people with basic essentials that they needed to supply the people with what they needed to sustain at least a basic standard of living that the population of any nation needed.
