Christian groups say officials are removing crosses and demolishing churches in an anti-religion campaign.

Christian groups in eastern China say they will guard their churches from what they call an anti-religion campaign by the government.

They accuse officials of removing crosses from their churches and, in some cases, demolishing them.

Officials say the size of the churches violates rules.

Al Jazeera's Rob McBride reports Zhejiang province in China.

Wow, I had been under the impression that China was moving toward more, rather than less, tolerance of religious faiths -- sad to hear this.
