We're under attack!!!! :)

Sorry for the shock title, but I thought it would get everyone's attention. I figured this would be the best way to get everyone wary.

Earlier tonight, Catman got on here and listed the names of eddie's children. He followed that up with a promise to the admins that the attack was "just the beginning." Right after that, he tried to sign up as Didge (which he's done before).

So you can expect some PMs from anonymous people, and maybe some other tricks. I don't want to stop allowing new members onto the site, so he might show up again. I just wanted to let everyone know, so they can see who he really is and to let everyone know to be watching out -- he's making AB look like an upstanding citizen at this point.

I've also asked all admins to increase the amount of time they spend checking in, just to make sure we're not missing anything. I spent an hour studying Spanish tonight and missed the doxing he did. I believe at this point he's trying to get the site shut down.

Ben did you delete the thread about my IP address as quickly because i find that out of order

Are the mods on here ever awake??

I suggest you,get some better moderation. No apologise this isn't good enough!

Eddie, I was on when it started, pm'd Ben and Cass and I kept going behind him. Ben came on after about 40 minutes and deleted it all really quickly. I know it must have been horrible, but no site is ever covered for every second.

Sassy please just for once would you just look at something honestly and objectively without thinking it will upset your friends?

Ben needs to either:

Put a boot up his mods' arses and tell,them to wake up (fair enough if it's night time for some)
Or
Get a few more mods employed to really sort this place out.


Let's face it, Ben does all the work round here so what is the exact point of having a moderation team?

Well perhaps he needs more mods because from what I've seen even when the mods are on they are asleep.

Actually, Cass and I chased him round the board and I put a message to him to stop (which I asked Ben to take off after he had dealt) and I pm'd Ben.

Ben, I have to agree with Eddie, I am happy for you to make me a mod only to act upon when he does this, as have no interest in being a moderator for the rest of the forum, just those who are banned so as to act when you are not here, to block them from posting if this helps, am sure you get some more for this sole role to stop banned people from spoiling the forum, they can be called border patrol instead

I have to agree too with this, and Didge seems the ideal person to have as a moderator around here.

I have no problem with the mods on here as posters or people, they are all perfectly ok.

But as moderators they suck. Ben does all the work and I'm sick of things not getting sorted out when they're online.
Either there aren't enough or they're not acting enough.

As I say I would only want to border patrol, to stop those banned, that way no claims of bias can be made against me, which could cause problems to Ben and  if I m not a mod to the posters on here it would thus be fair, by only moderating against hose banned.

Well it seems that what started as discussion of a specific attack on a specific person by a specific person and what should be done to adequately respond to such things is being carefully diverted into a general "have a go at who I dont like" session which will of course water down and loose the original point.

The only question would be is such watering down deliberate and if so why?

Blocking his ISP would block others using his ISP.

Blocking is IP is pointless because it's probably dynamic. He just has to reset his router.

Not sure if you can block by hostname, as ISP's may keep that static for each user.

Phil is a UK resident - not sure if he's broken any law (Malicious communications act, for example) but repeated offences may require him being reported. Although the Police are notoriously slow unless life is in danger.
