Steven Spielberg targeted by confused trolls after Facebook picture with 'dead' triceratops
These people are really truly STUPID!!!!!
The director was subjected to vile abuse from dim-witted bullies who thought he had poached an endangered species
Joke: A number of people failed to understand Jay Branscomb's satirical post
Movie-maker Stephen Spielberg has been targeted by idiotic web trolls who didn’t realise dinosaurs died out 66 million years ago.
A picture was posted of him posing next to a "dead" triceratops on the set of his hit 1993 film Jurassic Park with a caption suggesting Spielberg should be outed as a poacher of endangered animals.
It read: "Disgraceful photo of recreational hunter posing happily next to a Triceratops he had just slaughtered. Please share so the world can name and shame this despicable man.”
But a number of dim-witted bullies didn't get the gag and began hurling abuse at the Hollywood director.
One 19-year-old Texas cheerleader posted: “He’s an inumane pr * ** and an animal killer.”
Another named Penelope ranted: "Steven Spielberg, I’m disappointed in you. I’m not watching any of your movies again, ANIMAL KILLER."
Angry Vincent Smith wrote: "I don’t care who he is, he should not have shot that animal."
Mr Smith later claimed he was playing along with the joke.
At the time of writing, the posting by satirist Jay Branscomb, from Washington, had attracted more than 5,000 comments.
Many of them are from people who felt it necessary to explain the joke.
Mr Branscomb later claimed the reaction as proof he had "won the internet".

I think something might be amiss in the reporting. They cite a "19-year-old Texas cheerleader" as one of the people condemning Speilberg's wanton Triceratops slaying, but that phrase has been in the news a lot lately in connection to this young woman:
19-year-old Texas cheerleader Kendall Jones, who has been making a stir with photos like the above and these:
So, I know there's more than one 19-year-old Texas cheerleader, but still. Killing animals, Facebook outrage; it seems like something got mixed up in the telling of this story.
