A man stands before a judge having been convicted of murder. The Judge says "Although your guilt is beyond all doubt, I cannot in good conscience send you to prison".

Why?

Seems a tricky one this LD and I'm sure I'm wrong here but...

The murder committed by the convicted was actually morally justifiable?

Perhaps this is one for "The Puzzler" ?  Laughing

Hmm, the solution is a single sentence, jack-in-the-box type one as opposed to a long-winded technical explanation.

Was it actually a person that the man murdered, or something else.   You can say for instance 'he murdered that song'.

I would guess that somehow he managed to get double jeopardy and damning evidence has shown up after the conclusion of the trial.

On the off chance it's something bizzare: He's a conjoined twin and the other sibling had nothing to do with the murder..

I've got one:

A man is running full pelt, along a corridor with a piece of paper in his hand.
Suddenly the lights flicker uncontrollably and the man drops to his knees and cries out, "Oh no! I'm too late!"

Why?

The bit of paper has the code for the electricity system to keep running?

Or the paper is irrelevant and he simply forgot to put a coin in the meter lol

^ Oh this is a great one.

Think I've heard the solution already so unfortunately for me I'll have to withdraw.
