Didge, just so I don't get accused of being one sided, Ben and Veya have asked time and time again for UK Crime to be put in the UK Crime Section. They said why. They get mad because BA doesn't do it, how about we all make sure we all do it, then it can't be classed as just against BA.

No problem, but I fail to see the fuss really as it is uk news.

Moved, It is not really a big deal but before BigAndy came along people only posted about local crimes IF there was something Interesting or Weird about them not JUST because the perpetrator has a different skin colour or foreign sounding name.

To be honest you might as well just have a crime section, no matter the nation for balance, that way domestic crimes that happen in any nation are confined to one section.

yeah not really worth the bother....  no other nationalities on here feel the need to post about every two bit criminal which might be foreign.

I know Andy thinks he is making foreigners look bad but really when we reach the point we have to create a new section because he post so much of the same stuff which is of very little interest or debate to anyone that doesn't have a racist agenda... it sort of just makes the poster look like a twat   

If it wasn't for the spamming by BA we wouldn't bother with the UK one and this would have been left where it was. Ben was Nice enough to make Andy a section for his diatribe (even though he thinks it is rubbish) and Andy is to much of a jerk to limit his blatant attempts to create racial discord to that section.
Mind you he posts stuff from the USA and Africa in UK news so maybe he just is massively geographically ignorant  ::dunno::  ::dunno::  ::dunno::

I should add that the line of demarcation is often fuzzy. I tend to relegate things to Crime Blotter if:

* None of the people involved were well-known

* It was not a crime with a massive amount of victims

* The story of the crime is not a smaller part of a larger narrative (like on human trafficking or the Mexican border cartel wars)

And there can be disagreement on that as well -- someone like BA may well argue that every UK crime involving a Muslim is part of a larger narrative of some sort of Islamic take-over of the UK. But even if you're inclined to entertaining such a theory, a story like the Birmingham schools controversy still fits into such a thing far better than a random street-stabbing by someone whose name happens to be Ahmed.
