Re: NewsFix Forum World Cup Dream Team Competition
That ref was a bloody joke - we should have had 2 penalties and Uruguay should have had 2 players sent off.

Re: NewsFix Forum World Cup Dream Team Competition
Well if Italy beat both Uruguay and Costa Rico and we beat Costa Rico and score enough goals we could go through on goal difference.

Re: NewsFix Forum World Cup Dream Team Competition
Ref was terrible. Their captain should have been sent off and there was at least one penalty claim that they should have got that he waved away.
Gerrard is getting it in the neck for the second but even if he hadn't touched it it was still going straight through to Suarez anyway. He was allowed to run free twice and punished England twice. One shot on target, one header on target - two goals.
I'm no lover of Uruguay for their cynical behaviour back in 1986 in the world cup when they kicked Scotland out of the world cup with a disgusting display.
The warnings were there...

My heart says draw, but my brain says a humiliating defeat at the hands of Portugal in spite of any suspensions and injuries ...
3-0 Portugal
Re: NewsFix Forum World Cup Dream Team Competition
I'm surprised JD didn't predict the correct result because he can usually sniff these things out.
I suppose that comes with being a successful businessman in a business that many people on here may have used.
Right JD?

Well done Sassy...a draw between Italy and Costa Rica will see England out, or a win for either will still give England a chance, what with goal difference etc!

Hey , Nice one Irn, that's it out now!!
I was actually going to go for 2-1,no joke...but I didn't think England would score in that game, and if it wasn't for Suarez, I think it could have been much different.

Well that'll be that then.
Italy were absolutely shocking in that game against Costa Rica - the team that were supposed to be the whipping boys of the group.

Costa Rica thoroughly deserve their group leader status.
I'm assuming the England team have started to pack.

Not yet LD. They have to stay a wee bit longer and play Costa Rica before they leave.
