Heroin was found woven into handmade rugs that arrived from Peshawar in PakistanHeroin with a street value of about £5m was found woven into handmade rugs from Pakistan which had arrived at Manchester Airport.
Two men, aged 35 and 51, were arrested after 110lb (50kg) of the Class A drug was found in the consignment that arrived from Peshawar via Abu Dhabi.
A Border Force sniffer dog alerted officers to the drugs.

No evidence to coroborate this, have asked and none has been forth coming, in fact a report in the UK actually states the opposite in that dogs are not very well trained and includes as an example of Eddie, where twice her use brought about nothing
He was an expert in his field.
Your post of Waffle and conjecture changes nothing.
So again nothing to counter my points except you going off hearsay from the owner of the Dog, who not only gives such a round figure, not 189, or 197, but exactly 200, which is odd, showing already proved there is no way he can substantiate this, or more to the point he is going to say anything to get hired, and where he did and it has been published, the Dog had as seen failed to alert to objects on multiple times, to then later alert. That is a major problem, as to why the dog never alerted before and not just one, but many times.
You are just in denial and constantly clutching at straws, I have no doubt some dogs today and more so elsewhere in the world are very well trained, but the claims to Eddie lack any credibility.

If says involved in over 200 operational cases.
Have already answered this on McCann thread.
Details of dogs training and handlers experience can be found here......
http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/MARTIN_GRIMES.htm
Plus the licensing and accreditation details they had which you claimed didn't exist.
This is about dogs In general and their effectiveness not Eddie or keela in particular.

That comes from Grimes himself who also states evidence is needed to corroborate

No I said he no longer has a licence and that the report states clearly they lack any credability

No this is about Eddie who is an EVRD dog, where your evidence hinges on and shows you are just very dim

They are extensively trained to indicate at particular smells and scents, and brought in to particular locations to do so.
Only the reliable ones are used out in real investigations.
There was a case posted on other thread where a prosecution happened for murder when no body was found and sniffer dog evidence was used.
Another recent high profile case was the missing girl in Wales, April Jones, if I remember correctly, they never found her body either.
And now you are splitting hairs on why you were stopped.
You were stopped because The dog indicated scent of drugs.
Did you have a scent of drugs on you?
And just a side issue, these random dog searches were started in this country under labour.
They also increased the state and wanted ever increasing state control, and snooping, plus the massive proll out of cameras everywhere watching our every move. We are the most watched population in The world because of it.
Their mantra was 'if you're got nothing to hide, You have nothing to fear'....
They wanted to pass law giving them access to all our communications too.
NO I Did not!!!!
I was on my way home from work, maybe there was contact on the weekend before but it was like a Wednesday so NONE for at least a few days
And yeah I think both LW and RW parties do it just depends on who is in power when it becomes a 'thing' gov'ts want to do Here it was mainly under the RW but it was timed with us having the Olympics etc. both parties have added minor bit since then.
Do you get the cameras to watch the Cameras, here they are thinking they may need Cameras to watch the cameras watching the cameras ::D::

So you did have recent contact with drugs then.
If you use drugs at the weekend and drugs are sniffed on you a couple of days later, that is completely understandable as it will be coming out in your sweat and will also build up in your shoes etc.
And for a dog to detect this is showing a pretty powerful nose.

When the Force’s new ‘body’ dogs were called upon to assist in the Wycherleys murder case, you would be forgiven for thinking their lack of experience and the time passed may not bring results.
But three-year-old spaniels Jack and Charlie indicated at the burial site in the back garden of Blenheim Close, Forest Town, almost immediately.
PC Leigh Whitehead is Cocker Jack’s handler and PC Gav Berry takes Springer Charlie’s lead.
PC Whitehead said: “Our dogs are chosen for their drive and work ethic. Jack and Charlie have this in abundance.
"I’m not surprised by their performance that day. They did exactly what they are trained to do.
"The circumstances posed a significant challenge for them but I’m proud to say it’s a challenge they lived up to and surpassed.
He trained the canine cops over an eight-week period before they were licensed by PC Terry Arnett from the West Midlands Police in August 2013.
Since September, Jack and Charlie have been deployed 22 times.

No, some sniffer dogs are very good and better trained today, which is a blessing, which just have proven Eddie the EVRD dog was crap or more to the point poorly trained .
So it is a tad silly to go down this avenue, because the issue has always been about Eddie, not other dogs today

Re: Another useless sniffer dog...
Interesting post Harves.
And it said these dogs were only trained for 8 weeks before being licensed and been on 22 operations since.....
Eddie was extensively trained both in UK and in USA with the FBI using real human body parts and had been involved in over 200 cases with a 100% success rate.
Do you really think the handler with 35 years experience would have known if Eddie was shit or not and would not have kept using Eddie if he was shit???
Pathetic dodge....

Re: Another useless sniffer dog...
Its amazing Tommy, those bodies had been buried for 15 years...
I suppose they don't need much training because after all they already have the equipment, their nose! Its simply a matter of training them what smell to alert to. I know my own West Highland Terrier can alert to a rabbit about 50 feet away and I've never trained him
Eddie dog sadly died of Cancer or I'm sure he would still be employed doing what he's best at.

One of my old girlfriends had a spanial that would that would know instantly whenever any food was about, it could be in the back garden and You could be upstairs in the front of house and open a packet of crisps and it would be straight there by your feet...

Re: Another useless sniffer dog...
Yeah, all the dogs are great except for the highly trained and highly experienced one who detected death at the McCanns apartment and hire car and clothes and cat toy...... funny that....100% success rate on over 200 operational cases but then suddenly not very good at all on McCann case..... because he found the 'wrong' answers..... and only finding this 'wrong' answer on the McCanns apartment, hire car, clothes and cat toy and not anywhere else during his searches....
