Useless parents are everywhere.

I am getting sick and tired of people who don't seem to give a toss about their own kids. Driving like maniacs with young kids in the back of the car.....parents screaming and swearing right in childrens faces, dragging them around at a pace that the child cant keep up with.

Today I was in a store and I could hear a child shouting loudly 'Mama, mama' I didn't bother for a minute but he kept on....I stopped what I was doing and went to see where he was. A little boy of about three was walking up and down isles shouting for his mum....no one came, and even other shoppers didn't seem concerned. I rushed over because he was heading for the shop door, bent down and asked him had he lost his mummy...he nodded, I held my hand out and he took it (I could have walked off with him) I walked up and down a couple of isles with him, no one bothered. After a couple of minutes I went to the desk where the tannoy is.....still looking round, the little lad was calmer now but still shouting 'mama'. It must have been at least 5 minutes before a young woman sauntered up looking incredibly unconcerned with a basket full of shopping, the little lad run to her, she barely glanced at him and didn't acknowledge me or the assistant who had announced a child was lost on the tannoy.

Stupid ignorant woman.

I feel quite concerned for his well-being in general, after reading that!
I know what I'm like though, I'd have actually given her a mouthful.

I felt like it tbh, she didn't even give eye contact though so I probably would have been talking to myself.

She needed telling but it probably wouldn't have made any difference. People like that make me really anxious that there are children out there that are basically neglected.

I think she was Polish but she would have understood I think, the little lads name was Nicolai....my OH thought he was saying Nicola... but the child could understand English OK.
He looked really well cared for physically....in fact he was gorgeous, how easy would it have been for someone to take his hand and walk away with him, he was so trusting.

I think the reason I didn't say anything was initial relief that he was reunited with his mum, and when that had passed she was already walking away with him, ignoring him once more.

Perhaps he does it a lot and she's simply used to it? I dunno. I don't get it.

Maybe....I see quite a lot of useless mothers when I'm out and about, it's pretty upsetting sometimes.
