Another recommendation taken on:

White Dee's sickness benefits have been cut after her jolly to Magaluf where she was she seen downing pints, shots and champagne, it was claimed today.

The Department for Work and Pensions has reportedly frozen the reality TV star's £101 a week sickness benefit after she started cashing in on her growing celebrity status.

The 42-year-old Benefits Street star had defiantly insisted ‘I’m not doing anything wrong’ and said she would continue taking state handouts until the Prime Minister or the Government stops her.

The mother-of-two, real name Deirdre Kelly, has repeatedly claimed that she is too depressed to work and her Magaluf trip was a pick-me-up for which she was not paid.

But, according to The Sun, her Employment and Support Allowance has now been cut by the DWP, who could investigate her to see whether she has stuck to the rules.

Not even a bouquet of flowers and a balloon could raise a smile from White Dee yesterday just hours after learned of the decision.

Hmmm. So people on benefits aren't allowed to go on holiday? Come on Andy! That's ridiculous!

Look, people can be depressed and still go on holiday, it doesn't mean they aren't suffering depression!

In this discussion, yes.

My point was to spark debate.

My views are that she was a disgrace, she was a fraud, the system is not fit for purpose and she should have had her benefits stopped or reduced much sooner.

Ok Andy let me re-phrase:

Why should she not go on holiday just because she's depressed? Come on....it doesn't matter where she got her money from, she has saved it (or been given it?) and has spent it on a holiday.
I can't see a problem really.

Her actions are not those of somebody whom she claims to be.

I saw a problem, so did millions of others and so did the DWP.

Correct - and we have discussed that subject on another thread (i think).

I've just thought of something else:

If what she has IS depression - then let all those with depression go out to work!

If she is fit enough to go pissing it up abroad....she's fit enough to get of her idle ass and get a job....In which case...she is NOT entitled to "sickness benefits"..If there are no jobs available she is of course entitled to JSA.....

I think it's a GP problem actually.
What we need to ask perhaps, is, are GP's too lazy/lax/other to check up on a person or is it easier (or do they get paid?) to keep just ticking the boxes to say someone is still 'sick'?

What exactly has BA done (again) here?

That is correct though I cannot say how big the notch is in his big pistol.
