What is the retail price index?

It exists, where a junior member of the civil service...They have to go around supermarkets, and jot down the prices of lots of goods, as listed.

.....Then they have to go to another supermarket, and do the same thing.

...That's what it used to be like, and everyone in said supermarket, didn't really like you being there at all, or rather the staff used to glare at you! lol!
