Why do poeple that have just seen first hand why you cannot let religion anywhere near a legal system feel that 'against islamic principals' is an acceptable reason to prevent laws that would uphold justice?

Amazing that national leaders don't have the basic common sense to know that real societal change always always always comes from within. It's almost as though they have ulterior motives!

I wish the libertarians hadn't been hijacked by the economic cranks. From non-intervention to social laissez-faire (i.e. liberalizing marriage, drug use, etc.), they once stood for a lot of good ideas. Now all you can get out of them is that banks are evil and we need to be on the gold standard ...
