diesel fumes

A report in todays Sun says diesel engine cars are responsible for at least 7000 cases of cancer a year.Diesel engines pump out cancer causing particulates into the atmosphere. I thought this had been known about for years.

Petrol must be safer than diesel.

Diesel has become rather big recently because we all thought we get more miles out of it - how long have they known this?

surely thats why modern diesles are fitted with particle filters...????

but then again...they are only enforced at proper levels on private vehicles....the lorries seem to be able to get away with existing in a cloud of black smoke....especially the foreign ones.
