Video: 'F*** the poor' goes viral as UK charity unveils controversial shock campaign
A controversial new shock campaign featuring a man with a sandwich board saying 'F*** the poor' as part of a social experiment has gone viral.
The video, released by the Pilion Trust, an anti-poverty charity, shows a man apparently campaigning on the street wearing the sweary sign and handing out leaflets.
Passers by were understandably irate at the sight of the heartless message on display, with many stopping to have a pop at the man.
Members of the public are shown saying the sign "goes too far" and its message is "disgusting" - with police officers even telling the bearer his sign is "offensive."
But in a heartbreaking twist, at the end the sign is changed for one that says 'Help the poor' - which provokes a vastly different response.
Where before people were queuing up to complain about the crass message, the plea for help is met with indifference as pedestrians walk past the signbearer without reaction.
The campaign's message is "We know you care. Please care enough to give."
The campaign has provoked a strong reaction online, clocking up more than 170,000 views on YouTube in just 24 hours.
"We understand some may be shocked by this footage." said Savvas Panas, Chief Executive of the Pilion Trust. "We are more offended however, that people across the United Kingdom are living in adverse poverty."

Very good idea imo, some people need to be shocked into discovering what is going on.
