A new video is likely to be helpful for tourists travelling around the UK wanting to make more sense of the different accents they encounter along the way.
In 'A tour of the British Isles in accents' on YouTube, the voice of a dialect coach leads you around a Google map of the UK, explaining how accents differ greatly from region to region.
The video begins with London and moves around England, touching the West country, 'where the "r" comes in', and Lancashire, where the accent gets 'flexible and fluid in the mouth'.
