Jobless European migrants could be deported from Britain after Germany backs tougher stance on migration
Germany has guaranteed Britain will be protected from a more powerful eurozone as the two countries examine plans to kick out jobless migrants after three months.
German politicians have suggested the limit should be set at 3 months - though the document does not specify an exact deadline.
The UK has already restricted access to benefits for migrants until they have been in Britain for three months.
+4
Mr Cameron said he would work with Berlin on plans to deport jobless migrants who fail to find work
But the German plans would go further, giving member states the right to kick out those who are not working.

I honestly think there is something wrong with him no normal person would keep posting things like that I fear for his safety and those around him to be honest

Europe (England, Germany and France) will be falling over themselves to bring things like this to our attention.
So Cameron can inform us that we don't need a referendum.

To my mind this is admitting that the whole concept's a failure! Surely it goes against the basic tenet of the EU - freedom to travel and work in each country/state...

They are admitting that the EU has turned in to something it shouldn't have.
I notice you put travel and work in your sentence.
Yes, you should be able to travel and you should be able to work.
You should be able to travel and claim.

Re: Jobless European migrants could be deported from Britain after Germany backs tougher stance on migration
This is a step in the right direction, but it is trying to solve a problem that shouldn't be happening in the first place.
And it will be more expense to try to remove any of these people, just think of the appeals and human rights claims etc.
I agree with Andy that this is just a load of huff and puff to appear to be actually doing something, to then be able to say that the EU is 'fixed' and we don't need a referendum.
Best thing to do would be control our borders and control of who comes here. The visa system worked very well before.

Maybe, maybe not, as seen more and more nations within the EU are backing as seen views that things need to change and a better negotiated EU would not see people vote to leave. Thus the problem all stems from what can be negotiated.

Its an admission of failure. Their idealistic superstate isn't working and they've got to start back-tracking.Didge wrote:Tesstacious wrote:

See it as you will Tess, what is important is that we do have a structure like the EU but with nations retaining their power. There is no doubt the EU needs reform, but because of it we have prospered with trade and jobs

It may well be another nail for UKIP.
France and Germany who are agreeing with the sending home of unemployed Europeans are also facing very strong anti EU political parties.
It is all do with saving necks....................The leaders etc but at the end of the day if results are obtained I for one am not unhappy.

Without the UKIP pressure, nothing would change at all, Joe I doubt after all the hot air from Cameron that anything actually will.
Loads of puff and cbuster and then business as usual.

So Cameron has not been constantly trying to reform the EU then and it is Nigel speaking to EU nations then.?
I think not

Really? Compare standards of living pre- the EU and standards now; not just us but the other poor saps who are stuck with this bloody white elephant! As for prospering with trade and jobs...
'Britain is exporting more goods to countries outside the European Union than those inside it for the first time since we joined the Common Market in the 1970s. Firms are entering growing markets in Asia and Latin America in what economists are hailing as a ‘revolution in the orientation of British trade’. (From 2012)

Trade figures for February confirm the trend: Britain’s exports to the EU are shrinking as a percentage of our overall trade. We continue to run a large deficit with Europe, but are in surplus with most other continents.

Thanks Tess that actually proves my point why we have prospered within the EU to export outside them, can you think why?

Still not grasping it yet Tess are you?
It is because we are part of the EU that we have gained unlimited and free access to the world’s biggest market, with 500m customers, which attracts many foreign investors.

It costs us £65 billion a year!!! For that 'free and unlimited access' we've still managed to import more than we export to them. And we did trade with them before the EU existed you know - and that WAS free!
