Conservatives Neck & Neck With Labour After Vote-Winning Budget
24th March 2014
Just wait until next years feel-good budget lol
The Conservatives have moved almost neck and neck with Labour in the wake of George Osborne's budget last week, according to two polls.
The Conservatives rose four points to 34% in a Survation/Mail on Sunday survey, a point behind Labour, which gained one point.
The Tory gain came at the expense of Ukip and the Lib Dems, both three points down at 15% and 9% respectively. The poll of 1,000 adults was carried out on Thursday and Sunday.
Another poll by YouGov for the Sunday Times carried out after the budget had the Conservatives up three points and a point behind Labour, on 36% to 37%. Labour were down three points.
The Labour backbencher John Mann told the newspaper that Ed Miliband needed to "speak the language of voters in Bassetlaw, not academics in Hampstead".
He said: "It's talking clear, simple language that people understand. It's all too clever at the moment. A reshuffle of his speechwriters would help.
"What the Labour shadow cabinet should do is get out of its policy committees and get out onto the doorstep and listen to the experiences of Britain's people."

The real labour politicians realise Milli and co are dead ducks to their party. Just not enough of them nor are any brave enough to take them on.
Good news for the Tories...... And as you say the good news budget 2015. Bring it on..............

The main election battle will take place in the marginals and according to polling carried out by Ashcroft the Labour lead in these is far higher than in the national polls.

Are the marginals the Scottish seats as well that may well have voted Yes in the referendum......... 40 plus seats lost at a stroke as they will have to remove themselves from the Houses of Westminster after 18 months ?

There are no marginals in Scotland that are of interest to the Tories Gerber.
Any sign of a Tory government getting into power will only enhance the YES campaign for independence.

I don't think the YES campaign will get over the line myself. I've not made up my mind yet but I'd rather go for independence than have another Tory government.
Problem is that we won't know when the referendum is held whether we're likely to get one or not.

Interesting conundrum. So the future is held in the pollsters mucky mittens.......... Who actually believes in the pollsters ?
There is always a cost to their predictions, maybe this one is too great. And the media will therefore have a huge role as opposed to the actual people of Scotland.
Interestingly I do understand my Son who is at Edin. Uni can vote even though he is English but resides there some of the year, but one of our great friends here who is Glaswegian, born, bred, schooled, footied and the rest can't as he lives in England........ Bizarre.

" It's time to play the music. It's time to light the lights. It's time to discuss Scottish independence on the Muppet Show tonight.
Kermit the Frog has become the latest international star to warn Scottish voters against breaking away from the rest of the UK, in a fresh blow to Alex Salmond's dream of independence.
And after the SNP claimed the Queen could be ditched as head of state for an independence Scotland, Kermit revealed Miss Piggy is ‘willing to serve’ as a new Queen of Scotland.

Re: Conservatives Neck & Neck With Labour After Vote-Winning Budget
When the Daily Mail sticks its nose in you just know that things are just going to get better for the YES vote.
Here's why....
Just who are you calling spongers? The REAL Granny McTavish hits back at Daily Mail anti-Scots agenda
