Christian pastor freaks out over 'Frozen' and its 'pro-gay, pro-bestiality' themes
Disney’s hit movie Frozen encourages homosexuality and bestiality. Or at least, that’s what one Christian pastor thinks.
Pastor Kevin Swanson of the Reformation Church, who hosts a Christian radio show in Colorado and insists he is not a "tinfoil hat conspiratorialist", described the animated film as "very evil" and denounced Disney as "one of the most pro-homosexual organisations in the country".
"You wonder sometimes if maybe there’s something very evil happening here," he said. "I wonder if people are thinking: ‘You know I think this cute little movie is going to indoctrinate my 5-year-old to be a lesbian or treat homosexuality or bestiality in a light sort of way’.”
Swanson went on to attack the studio, claiming that if he were the Devil wanting to do something “really, really, really evil” to young children in US Christian families, he would “buy Disney in 1984”.
Swanson, who believes Christians will one day be burned at the stake by homosexuals, is not the first to label Disney’s films as pro-gay propaganda. His rant was inspired by a blog entitled ‘So, How Gay is Disney’s Frozen’ on the National Catholic Register, in which film critic Steven D Greydanus argues Frozen is full of “gay culture themes”.
Greydanus argues that the Oscar-winning song “Let It Go” shows lead character Elsa “celebrating her acceptance of her true identity” and essential “coming out”, while her lack of interest in male suitors implies lesbianism.
As for the so-called bestiality, Greydanus points to a line in the film’s “Fixer Upper Song” about hunter Kristoff's relationship with Sven the reindeer: “His thing with the reindeer/That’s a little outside of nature’s laws!”

Bit like the Imam who didn't want to discuss gay comedy on the other thread. Strange how so many religions have nutter.

If you're so inclined, you can find somewhere on the internet a review for almost every movie or show ever made trying to drag politics or something else along those lines into it. I remember a review for 'A Bug's Life' that would have the reader believe that movie was designed to raise children to hate corporations and not value work.
Leave aside it's a modern update of The Ant and the Grasshopper, one of the most pro-hard work stories ever told.
I read a review of 'The Walking Dead' recently that said it's back on track because it embraced conservatism. Apparently the conservative value the show has embraced is the idea that "people don't change."
I want to know, if people don't change, why there are so many churches ...

Regarding the first part of your post:
Blah blah blah. Sometimes the people just want to watch a show or film and be entertained! Nothing more nothing less!

BUT why is it that so many of those self-made 'born again'/evangelist/pentecostal/'charismatic' ultra_conservative RW_extremist 'Christian' "Pastors" from deep and dank southern and mid-western forgotten corners of the US, are so obviously obsessed with finding imaginary sexual/homosexual/'socialist'/"liberal"/evil-mongering connotations and/or connections in every other movie or song they come across ?
They do indeed obsess over the use of tags to cite evil-I read an article recently be some RW pastor in the US- he claimed the Russia will fulfill one of the apocalypse prophecies by uniting with Iran against Israel- one piece of information he used to support this was Russia being a dictatorship and an atheist state- I must have imagined the Orthodox church and elections then

They've been circulating that garbage since the 1970s! It was much easier for them during the Soviet Union era of course; I would have thought they'd have dropped it by now, though
Annoying as it is when people pontificate about the hidden agendas in movies and TV; imagine how terrifying it would be for the commander in chief of the world's most powerful military thinking he was bringing about the Biblical apocalypse! ::zomb:: ::zomb:: ::zomb::
Re: Christian pastor freaks out over 'Frozen' and its 'pro-gay, pro-bestiality' themes
Sadly we can't even trust figures of the church nowadays, what with sexual abuse of children and other scandals...
It just seems like religion is doing more harm than good, money would better be spent on the poorest in our country.

It was John Hagee, in a book from 2006! he wrote:
"Yet, here is a nation that will appear at the end of days, that is in the extreme north, and that will be atheistic. There is no doubt about the fact of Russia's atheistic government under Communism"
Ridiculous.
As for nutty Dubbya (thanks god we don't have to worry about him anymore! lol); it was always a concern when he called his Iraq war a 'crusade'

Re: Christian pastor freaks out over 'Frozen' and its 'pro-gay, pro-bestiality' themes
There's a frighteningly large number of people who seem to crave the Biblical apocalypse; my own dad was one, sad to say. He used to say that the Common Market was a sign of the "End Times," believe he got that from Hal Lindsey, who's also responsible for a lot of the 'Satanic Panic' of the 1980s here.
Re: Christian pastor freaks out over 'Frozen' and its 'pro-gay, pro-bestiality' themes
I know this is slightly out of topic context but, it's all Eizel and Ben's fault...lol...for mentioning the end of the world predictions.
End of world predictions
You should live every day as if it is your last. That may be easier said than done. But what if you really knew the exact day when will the world end?
There have been and still are many End-of-World predictions:
In the year 70, Rabbi Jose, the Galilean, predicted that the world would end in the year 130.
In 90 CE, Saint Clement 1 predicted that the world would end at any moment.
Apparently a writer called Tichonus predicted the end of the world would take place in the year 381.
Both Hyppolytus (170-236) and Lactantius (250-330) put the date at about the year 500.
In the 900s, many predicted that the year 1000 would be the end of time.
In 1147, Gerard of Poehlde said the world would end in 1306.
In 1179, John of Toledo predicted the end of the world during 1186.
Joachim of Fiore (1135-1202) suggested the world might end at around the year 1300.
Mother Shipton (1488-1561) predicted the world would end in 1881.
In the early 1500s, Zwickau prophets (a Christian sect) believed that the world would end soon (around 1520).
Joseph Smith (b. 1805, founder of the Latter Day Saints movement, the Mormons) said, “I prophesy in the name of the Lord God, and let it be written – the Son of Man will not come in the clouds of heaven till I am eighty-five years old.” Which would have been the year 1890 – but he was assassinated in 1844.
In 1836, John Wesley (co-founder of the Methodist Church) wrote that “the time, times and half a time” of Revelation 12:14 were 1058 and 1836, “when Christ should come.” His brother Charles (the other co-founder) predicted in 1794 that Doomsday would take place in that year.
In 1874, Charles Taze Russell, founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses, predicted the Rapture in 1910 and the end of the world in 1914.
A typical press reaction of the time appeared in The World, then a leading New York city newspaper. Its Sunday magazine section of August 30, 1914, contained the article “End of All Kingdoms in 1914.”
“Rev. Charles T. Russell is the man who has been propounding this interpretation of the Scriptures since 1874. . . . ‘In view of this strong Bible evidence,’ Rev. Russell wrote in 1889, ‘we consider it an established truth that the final end of the kingdoms of this world and the full establishment of the Kingdom of God will be accomplished by the end of A.D. 1914.’ . . .
(This prediction makes the statement that 1914 will be a positive ending, not the beginning of a protracted, long-lasting end.)
When the Jews reclaimed Jerusalem in 1967 many predicted the end of time is near.
Isaac Newton calculated that the world will end in 2060.
Nostradamus predicted it to be the year 3786 or 3797.
The Islamic faith Qiyamah (the Day of Resurrection) is predicted “When immorality overtakes shamelessness and is perpetrated publicly,” amongst other things.
And, according to The Bible, in Matt 24:36 : “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
In the meantime, try to live every day as if it is your last. Smile more and love more. Or, put the kettle on, turn the telly on, and put your feet up, or have a good laugh at the above predictions, as I did.
